Track Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s a list of some of our most frequently asked questions here at TopGear karting, we hope it helps!

What’s the minimum age and height?

The minimum age for our track is 8years and all drivers must be 4ft 2inches and over. To read about why we have a height restriction check out our Why Go Karting Has A Height Restriction blog post.

Those on the smaller side (4ft 2in- 4ft 7in) may be given a junior kart, however this is dependent on build, strength and experience. For example if a driver is 4ft 8in but small in build they may also be put into a junior kart, our marshals will determine what is both the best and safest option.

Is there a maximum height and weight?

We have no maximum height or weight limit, everyone over 4ft 2inches is welcome to drive.

Is the track indoor or outdoor?

Our track is completely indoor so no need to worry about the weather, come rain or shine we’ll be open.

What should I wear?

This is one of our most frequently asked questions. In brief we suggest comfy clothing such as joggers, jeans etc and closed toe footwear. To read more in-depth about what to wear and guidelines on racing suits and helmets check out our What To Wear Go Karting blog post.

How long is the track?

Our track is 200m long with an average lap time of around 20 seconds, please note this is dependent on driver experience.

How long will 30, 40 and 55lap sessions take to complete?

For our 30 lap sessions this will take around 15 minutes to complete.
For our 40 lap sessions this will take around 20 minutes complete.
For our 55 lap sessions this will take around 30 minutes to complete.

How many drivers are on the track at once?

There will be a maximum of 8 drivers on the track at one time, if your group exceeds this you will be split up accordingly.

Do you have 2 seater karts?

We currently only have 1 seater karts available, junior and standard.

Headwear?

As of January 2018 its now mandatory to wear a head cover / balaclava when driving with us.
