One of our most frequently asked questions is what should I wear to go karting. Now our track is completely indoors so there’s no need to worry about layering up and keeping the UK weather at bay. It’s more about comfort, being practicable and being importantly safe.
So here’s what we recommend.
Karting although fun, is classed as an extreme sport, it can be risky and dangerous. There is a chance of crashing and being barged into, so protecting your head is an absolute necessity. We will supply you with a helmet at the track that meets all karting requirements. You may bring your own helmet providing it is a full face helmet with a clear visor or googles.
We suggest something comfy and easily manoeuvrable so nothing restricting. Jeans, joggers and tracksuit bottoms etc are fine along with a top/t-shirt, jumpers and hoodies may be worn but you will get hot once on the track so ensure you have something underneath so these can be removed if required. You will be provided with a freshly laundered fire resistant overall as standard issue to protect your clothing so don’t worry about anything getting dirty. If you bring your own overall this must be fire resistant.
Flat closed shoes or wide feet running shoes are required to kart, so trainers, flat boots etc are perfectly acceptable. We won’t accept anything open toed or high heeled.
Karting gloves are provided, they help keep your hands warm, help with fatigue and increase grip, plus again they are added protection.
